My Journey

As a kid, I loved singing! I grew up in a musical family where everyone sang or played, and I’d spend hours on the swing belting songs just because it felt GOOD. As a teen, singing became how I processed emotions, and by middle school, I was told I had talent. By high school, it was part of my identity—but so was the anxiety that showed up whenever I tried to perform. Despite the anxiety, I kept singing.

I studied voice in college, trained classically, and built a career performing and teaching. I looked successful from the outside, and I did gain confidence—but something still felt off. I was living my life constantly looking for external validation, as many performers do.

That changed when I sang at my grandmother’s funeral. For the first time, it didn’t feel like a performance—it felt honest, surrendered, and deeply meaningful. It reminded me of how I sang as a child, with a deep connection to myself, and it made me start questioning what singing is really for. This experience shifted something in me. What if the purpose of singing was so much more than entertaining people? This started me on a journey of questioning the authenticity of my voice.

This started a 20-year journey of discovery. My teaching shifted from trying to get students to achieve a desired “sound” to helping them reveal their true, authentic voice. I also pursued many other avenues of exploring voice and authenticity: I received a certification in life coaching, became a Reiki master, explored energy healing and its connection to the voice, experimented with singing as “therapy” during COVID, studied yoga and chanting, and studied astrology and human design as a way to support the empowerment of authenticity.

All of these experiences inform the work I do today, and I am excited to offer astrology-centered coaching to support you in expressing your unique self! I want you to Sing Your Stars!
